Teams play a crucial role in task assignments.
To assign tasks to users, you must either be part of the team linked to the project or be the project manager.
You can assign tasks to users based on their team associations.
Project–Team Relationship:
A project is linked to one or more teams. When a project is linked to a team, you will see the names of users from that team when you click Add Assignments.Click here to know more about creating teams and assigning it to Projects.
Manager Assignments:
If you are a manager, you can assign tasks to:Users who report to you, or
Users who are part of the same team as you (they can have more than one team for the Project).
Users who are not assigned to any team.

Assigning Tasks to Yourself:
You can assign a task to yourself if:You are not linked to any team in Salesforce, or
You are a member of the team that is linked to the project.
