As part of Salesforce's ongoing efforts to modernize its platform, they have announced the retirement and discontinuation of support for several key features. These include Salesforce Platform API Versions 21.0 through 30.0, as well as Workflow Rules and Process Builder. Here’s how these changes impact the PK4 TimeTracker Package.
Salesforce Platform API Versions 21.0 through 30.0
- Salesforce will no longer support API versions 21.0 through 30.0. This change is part of their broader strategy to ensure that all Salesforce solutions leverage the latest and most secure technologies.
Impact on PK4 TimeTracker Package:
- The PK4 TimeTracker Package is built on API versions 56.0 and above. Therefore, this change does not affect our package. We have ensured that our solution is aligned with the latest Salesforce APIs, providing our customers with a secure and reliable experience.
Workflow Rules & Process Builder End of Support
- Salesforce has also announced the end of support for Workflow Rules and Process Builder, signaling a shift towards Salesforce Flow as the preferred automation tool. While this change brings new opportunities for more complex and scalable automation, it requires packages like PK4 TimeTracker to adapt accordingly.
Process Builder:
- The PK4 TimeTracker Package currently contains three Process Builders. We have already marked these Process Builders as inactive in anticipation of this change. This proactive step ensures that our package remains compliant with Salesforce's evolving standards.
Workflow Rules:
- The PK4 TimeTracker Package currently contains four active Workflow Rules. These rules are primarily used for sending emails to TT Users. As part of our ongoing commitment to staying ahead of platform changes, we have included the migration of these Workflow Rules to Salesforce Flow in our roadmap. We plan to make these Workflow Rules inactive soon. Additionally, we will consult with the Salesforce support team before permanently deleting them from the package to ensure a smooth transition.
Next Steps
- Our team is committed to ensuring that the PK4 TimeTracker Package remains up-to-date with Salesforce’s best practices and evolving platform standards. We will continue to monitor Salesforce’s announcements and updates closely, and we will provide our customers with all necessary updates to ensure a seamless experience.
If you have any questions or concerns about these changes, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our support team.
