Here are the first few steps to get you going.

0  Process OAUTH

There's a reason this is numbered 0: without this step, nothing will work. Or, worse, things will go bump and you won't know why. You need to give PK4Connect the permission to get data about your emails and add them to Salesforce. To do that, you need to "process OAuth", as the techies call it.

If you've installed PK4Connect into a Production org, click here to process OAuth

if in a Sandbox, click here.

The link will take you back into Salesforce, to a page where you will need to give PK4Connect the permission to bring your data in.

If you choose not to do this now, you can do this later, too, from the nine-dot App Launcher within Salesforce. As the Admin, you will see a tile for PK4Connect OAuth - click that when you're ready. Please make sure you do this before you start sending out emails; else, bad things can happen.

Here are some additional details about OAuth.

1  Set the Salesforce Domain name

Salesforce Domain name

Once the PK4Connect app is installed, you must set the "domain name" for your Salesforce org if it is not set already. Setting the domain name is compulsory because the PK4Connect app uses the domain name while sending mass emails to the recipients. Click here to know more about setting the domain name for your Salesforce org.

Please note: this "domain name" is a Salesforce requirement and NOT the same as the Email Domain Name that your outbound emails will have. That needs to be set up separately and we talk about that, too, later (here).

After the domain name is set in Salesforce, you should deploy the domain name to all Salesforce users in your org.

To deploy the domain name to all Salesforce users,

Go to My Domain screen, you see a message as "Your domain name is ready, log in to test it out". Click the login button to re-login to the Salesforce org. Currently, the domain name is set only for the Salesforce Admin, click the "Deploy to Users" button in my domain screen. Then click the deploy to users and the OK button. The domain name is now deployed to all the Salesforce users in your org.

2  Set the Email Domain name

To send emails from PK4C, you can initially use the default Trial domain that we give you, pk4connect.tech. But you'll want to send emails from your own email domain, we're guessing. Click here to figure out how to set up the domain name that will be used for sending mass emails. You can do this step later, too, once you're comfortable with PK4Connect.

3  Add the PK4Connect Email Campaign button

For Salesforce Lightning

From setup, go to Object Manager and click Campaign. From the campaign layout, drag and drop the PK4Connect Email Campaign button, to the Salesforce Mobile and Lightning Experience action section and save it.

For Salesforce Classic

Click on Setup and click the "Customize" tab from the home list screen. Go to Page Layouts for Campaign and click Edit for "Campaign Layout". From the buttons section, Drag and drop the “PK4Connect Email Campaign” button to the Campaign detail section and Save it.

4  Add the Quick-Send button

For Salesforce Lightning

From setup, go to Object Manager and click Campaign. From the campaign layout, drag and drop the "Quick-Send" button, to the Salesforce Mobile and Lightning Experience action section and save it.

For Salesforce Classic

Click on Setup and click the "Customize" tab from the home list screen. Go to Page Layouts for Campaign and click Edit for "Campaign Layout". From the buttons section, Drag and drop the “Quick-Send” button to the Campaign detail section and Save it.

5 Assign Users to PK4Connect

Only Users who are in the Manage licenses list for the PK4Connect app, can send mass emails to recipients.

To add a Salesforce user for accessing the PK4Connect app:

Go to Setup and go to Installed Packages, click Manage Licenses for PK4Connect app. Click on Add Users and select the users from the Selected Users list and click Add.

The Salesforce users who are in the Available Users list can now have access to the PK4Connect app.

Once the Campaign is sent to the recipients, the details related to the emails: Opened, Bounced, Clicked the links in the email, Unsubscribed, Delivered, etc., get updated automatically Salesforce org. And the details are shown in the Email Tracking tab.
